Dubai: Uber and Dubai’s Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) have introduced a new transportation service, Uber School, aimed at providing a safe, affordable, and convenient commuting option for students.

According to the announcement, made on February 28, 2025, in Dubai, the service is designed for students aged 8 and above, allowing parents to manage their children’s daily commutes with added safety measures.

Uber School operates through Uber Teens accounts, offering features such as real-time tracking, driver verification, and PIN authentication to ensure security. Families can also save up to 35% on rides when booking 10 or more trips per week. Parents can activate the service by setting up a Teen account on the Uber app, completing a safety onboarding, and filling out a quick form.

Adel Shakeri, Director of Planning and Business Development at RTA, emphasized that Uber School is a valuable addition to school transport, ensuring flexibility and security. Carine Arif, Uber’s Head of Communications for MENA, stated that this initiative is designed to simplify school commutes for parents while ensuring students’ safety.

The introduction of Uber School aligns with Dubai’s smart mobility goals, enhancing transportation options for students and their families. The partnership between Uber and RTA reflects ongoing efforts to improve convenience and security in school transportation.
